Today, Wednesday 16 December, the first day of the ICT mission between Galicia and the United States took place, with the support of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE). Nine Galician SMEs and one Portuguese, focused on the high-tech, fin-tech and cybersecurity sectors, had the opportunity to present their innovations to the heads of three of the most important organisations for the sector in the state of North Carolina: the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), the Fin-Tech Hub in Charlotte (Queen City) and the Charlotte regional Business Alliance (which replaces what used to be the Chamber of Commerce).

Among the participating companies are ten Galician companies (Arteixo Telecom, PLexus, Alice Biometrics, Authusb, Inprosec, Egatel, Tarlogic, Ágata Technology, Centum R&T) and one Portuguese company (Digital Sign), which are mainly focused on the cyber-tracking and telecommunications sector, a very important market in the United States with wide business opportunities. The companies have had the opportunity to make a brief presentation of their products and services and the competitive and differentiating advantages of the same to members of the management of the two bodies mentioned above.

In these group meetings the participants from the American market and specifically from the state of North Carolina, have shown interest in some of the products presented and have been able to establish a first contact for future collaborations with Galician and Portuguese companies. Furthermore, there has been time to address all the important issues so that these future collaborations are as productive as possible. In this sense, further individual meetings with some of the partners from Galicia and Northern Portugal are planned after Christmas.

This concludes the first day of the mission organised in collaboration with IGAPE, which will continue over the next few days (17th and 18th December).
